What a great and convincing start for the season from Arsenal!
Just 48 days after last season’s delayed conclusion, the English top-flight is back and Arsenal hit the ground running. Arsenal made a convincing start to the new Premier League season as they unleash their new signings, Willian and Gabriel in a 3-0 win at Fulham.
Alexandre Lacazette became the first player to score the first goal of a Premier League season on two occasions as he struck eight minutes into the game. Arsenal’s new signings showed off what they are capable of as they went on to impress on their debuts with Willian grabbing two assists and Gabriel grabbing a goal.
The wait for the first goal of the season came to an end after Aubameyang was allowed to chase and retrieve a loose ball in the host’s box allowing Lacazette to tap in after Marek Rodak had saved from Willian.
Four minutes into the second half, Arsenal had their second goal as Gabriel, who has been largely untroubled in defense in the first half diverted Willian’s corner past Rodak with his shoulder. Aubameyang rounded up the scoring to 3-0 after an amazing switching play from Willian to find Abameyang who curled a fine finish into the top-right corner.
Aubameyang also came close to scoring his second but was denied by Michael Hector who cleared off the line.
This is a good start for Arsenal!
